# TAIKO-01 Keyboard

> TAIKO-01 is an ergonomic split concave mechanical keyboard designed by physicians for optimal hand and wrist health. It features a unique design that promotes a neutral typing posture, reducing strain and discomfort associated with traditional keyboards.

Ergonomic Features:
- Split in Two for Neutral Wrist Alignment: Traditional keyboards force your wrists to bend outward, a posture called ulnar deviation. The TAIKO-01's split design lets your wrists stay in a neutral position.

- Curved for Natural Finger Extension: Traditional keyboards force your fingers into an unnatural claw position. TAIKO-01's keeps your fingers relaxed.

- Angled to Reduce Wrist Pronation: Traditional keyboards force your wrists to twist inward, a posture called pronation. The TAIKO-01 is angled to keep your wrists in a more ergonomic position.

- Down-Sloping Thumb Cluster for Natural Handshake Position: Other split keyboards force your thumbs to stretch horizontally. The TAIKO-01's design lets your thumbs stay in a handshake position.

Technical Specifications:
- The TAIKO-01 is hotswappable and compatible with any MX-style keyswitches, allowing users to customize their typing experience.

- It is built with a consumer-grade injection-molded enclosure for durability and a premium feel.

- Keymaps can be easily customized via QMK, VIA and Vial. It can also use the browser-based Taikohub Toolbox, which is a web application that handles compilation and flashing for the user directly from the web application to the USB connected keyboard. This eliminates the need for firmware compilation or command-line interface knowledge.

- The keyboard is compatible with Windows, MacOS, and Linux operating systems.
